For the most romantic day of the year Cantina Tollo, elected Winery of the Year for 2008 by the “Bere Bene” almanac, has launched “Cuore”

For Saint Valentine’s Day Cantina Tollo has launched a new selection of wines “Cuore”, carefully studied to give a magical touch to every special moment from the day he professes his love to you to that most important day of your life.

It is no coincidence that the Winery have decided to launch it on Saint Valentine’s Day.

“When it’s Love” is the slogan of this new exciting range offering delicious wines from Abruzzo, the “Terra d’Amore” rich in romantic customs like “Presentosa”, an eighteenth century jewel which young men traditionally gave to their sweethearts.

It is this romantic jewel that has inspired this romantic selection of wines which, however, are not only the fruit of man’s love for his territory.

They are the exquisite result of vinification and maturing techniques which exalt the fragrances and aromas of the varieties of grapes used and, more importantly, the product of theAdvanced Vineyard project, a courageous vine growing and wine producing initiative undertaken by Cantina Tollo.

For this ambitious project the Winery selected a group of member vine growers renowned for their vast experience, reliability and efforts in sustaining the environment and the local territory.

These growers agreed to a pact by which they accepted to produce superior quality grapes to be used in the making of Top of the Range wines.

It was a choice of great sacrifice as the members had to keep to strict production specifications which reduced the maximum yield per hectare to between 80 and 100 quintals depending on the variety of grape.

These producers are paid by the hectare and not by the quintal and in this way Cantina Tollo, for the first time in Italy, has chosen to constantly assure its members a higher income for their labour and thus enable the companies involved to implement medium to long term investments.

The Advanced Vineyard project is very important for the territory because it encourages producers, especially the younger growers, to believe and invest in an activity carried out with such love and attention by their fathers.

The Cuore selection of wines is already available throughout the region, in restaurants and catering companies, with Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Doc, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Doc Cerasuolo, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Doc and Chardonnay Terre di Chieti Igt.
