CANTINA TOLLO WINS THE MOST AWARDS IN ABRUZZO WITH 4 SILVER MEDALS AND 7 “GRAN MENZIONI”.

At the 2007 edition of the Vinitaly International Competition, “Cagiolo” Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2006, “Hedos” Montepulciano d'Aruzzo Cerasuolo 2006, Chardonnay IGT Terre di Chieti “Cretico” and the surprising Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Cerasuolo 2006 “Rocca Ventosa” were all awarded medals.

This is a great achievement if you consider the number of wines that took part in this Wine Competition from the 21st to the 25th of March: 3,500 samples from 30 countries.

“It's a result of which we very proud - comments the President of Cantina Tollo Tonino Verna - if you think that for the second year running we were close to winning the Gran Vinitaly Special Prize, an award which we obtained in 1999 and enabled us to be the only wine cooperative in the world to be mentioned in the Alba d'Oro of the International Wine Competition.
But we are not going to ease up because it is our intention to win the Gran Vinitaly again.”

“Seeing our wines continuously win prestigious awards in national and international competitions - underlines the General Manager Giancarlo Di Ruscio - motivates us even more to reach the excellent objectives we have fixed.

A hard battle not so much for quality control which is producing excellent results but more for the consolidation of our position as market leader of Abruzzo wines in the Italian market.
Here the battle regards price and cantina Tollo has no intention of giving way, believing in quality at a right price for the consumer and the company.

To conclude, the 7 “Gran Menzioni” were given to 4 Doc wines: Aldiano 2006 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Aldiano 2005 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Colle Secco Rubino 2004 Montepulciano d'Aruzzo, Colle Secco Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and 3 IGT Terre di Chieti: Pecorino 2006, the new Pinot Grigio Magis (a sparkling wine) and Pasello 2004.
